Our school was invited to showcase our programs and achievements related to developing students’ soft skills at the Learning and Teaching Expo. The students actively engaged with attendees and gained valuable insights. Principal Cheung also shared our school’s progress in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) during the principal’s forum, where the host noted that our case is highly valuable for other schools to consider. We hope to provide high-quality education to more students.
On July 2nd, Wan Tuen School invited the performing group KD Music Production to perform traditional Chinese famous pieces at the school. These included “Thunder During Draught”, “Birds in the Shade”, and “Giving Me a Rose”. Besides of renowned pieces, students gained a deeper understanding of Chinese musical instruments “Wind, blowed string, plucked string, percussion instruments”. During the interactive session, students also had the opportunity to participate by playing drums to accompany the traditional Chinese music.
Wun Tsuen School held Extracurricular Activity Achievement Sharing Days on June 24 and 27. Our students participate in two extracurricular activities per week. As the semester comes to an end, everyone has achieved remarkable progress and showcased their impressive learning outcomes through wonderful performances!
The “Hello Future Programme” aims to lay a solid foundation for children’s future, equipping them to cope with the rapidly changing world. Through a series of inquiry-based and experiential learning activities, children were able to obtain important knowledge about global warming and polar ecology. Through this learning experience, our students were cultivated with innovative thinking, positive attitudes, and practical skills needed for the future.This year, our annual theme is “Saving the Polar Bears.” Students from various classes have transformed into the brave “Wun Tsuen Rescue Team,” embarking on challenge after challenge to ensure the survival of polar bears. On June 20, during the “Hello Future Day Learning Outcomes Showcase” we once again witnessed the outstanding performances and great potential of our students in the “Hello Future Programme.”On that day, the campus was set up with multiple simulated scenarios, allowing students to test their results practically. The children were fully engaged, with every successful test accompanied by excited cheers and enthusiastic applause. Even when faced with challenges, they quickly adjusted their strategies, demonstrating an indomitable spirit. It was an unforgettable and meaningful learning journey.Through these rich learning experiences, children not only acquired valuable knowledge and skills but also developed excellent qualities of facing difficulties and courageously exploring new horizons.
Our Primary Four students, visited Wun Chuen Sin Kwoon Taoist Temple on June 27th. This trip allowed them to learn about the unique features of Chinese architecture and Chinese gardens, deepening their appreciation for Chinese culture. They even got to taste several delicious vegetarian dishes.
On June 23rd and 25th, our P.2 students participated in the ”Intangible Cultural Heritage Domain“ organized by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office. They explored the historic Sam Tung Uk Village in Tsuen Wan, learning about its 200-year-old Hakka culture with the help of knowledgeable docents.The students also got creative, crafting miniature floral plaques to appreciate traditional Chinese culture. What a wonderful way to connect with our heritage!
A karate experience activity for our P.1 students was held on June 26. Students enjoyed the demonstration by our Wun Tsuen Karate Team and learnt some basic punch and kick techniques from our coach. During the activity, students experienced that Karate “begins and ends with respect ”, highlighting the importance of mutual respect.
In order to enhance students’ understanding of waste management and urban fixed waste problems in Hong Kong, our school arranged for Primary 5 students to visit the Southeast New Territories Landfill at Tai Chik Sha, Tseung Kwan O on June 25 and 26. The students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of waste treatment and resource recycling, and learned about the topic of converting waste into energy.
We had an amazing time visiting the Lam Tin Public Library on June 18 and 25, 2025! Our P.3 students, along with their teachers, explored the library and learned all about its wonderful resources.The friendly Librarian and Assistant Librarian showed us around, explaining how to find books and the importance of library rules. Everyone had a great time discovering new stories and enjoying some quiet reading at the end of our visit.
