Subject - ICT and Coding Education

 Aims

In the digital age, technology plays an indispensable role in our daily life. The implementation of Information and Communication Technology education (ICT) aims to equip our students with the knowledge, skills and attitude towards using technology wisely. Moreover, we implement coding education in the curriculum to strengthen students’ computational thinking skills, coding skills and creativity. The Inno Space in the new campus offers a comfortable environment with comprehensive facilities to students for exploration and innovation.

Encouraging students’ exploration with Inno Space in the new campus

After moving into the new campus, we have specifically established Inno Space to enhance students' exploration. Inno Space is divided into two main areas: the learning area and the practical area. In the learning area, students can use electronic devices such as computers and tablets for their studies; while the practical area is equipped with tools and accessories like building blocks, making them easily accessible for students to engage hands-on and express their creativity.

Empowering problem-solving skills and creativity through Coding

With the rising popularity of technology, coding becomes an essential skill for students. In view of this, we decide to equip our students with coding skills as their third language. We implement the CoolThink curriculum in the ICT subject to allow students learn computational thinking concepts through various coding activities. 0We hope our students can have more in-depth understanding on computational thinking and encourage them to apply what they have learnt to solve the problems in daily life.

Promoting unplugged coding curriculum to facilitate the learning of coding concepts of junior primary students

We implement unplugged coding methodology to deliver coding concepts in junior primary levels. We teach junior primary students coding through board games. Adopting gamified ways to learn coding enables students to master the abstract concepts in computational thinking and coding easier, as well as raising their interest in coding.
