A Caring Learning Atmosphere
The school has put in place a comprehensive set of measures to promote a strong culture of inclusion and mutual support. We embrace this responsibility of continuously making the school’s learning environment as caring and empowering as it can possibly be. This aims to promote equity in the educational opportunities of each and every student.
Comprehensive Student Support
With regards to our student enrichment and whole-person development programmes, our school is committed to developing our students’ problem-solving skills and in promoting an optimistic outlook. Wun Tsuen School has implemented a series of activities such as the Student Ambassador Scheme, the Understanding Adolescent Project and the Life Education Growth Camps, to promote good habits both in and out of the school. These programmes have made a great impact on the moral, social and emotional development of our students. They have gained valuable lessons from these activities that they can readily apply in their everyday experiences. Moving forward, we hope to continue empowering our students as they make their way through this fast-paced society. Providing students with experiences that enhance their self-confidence and build up their resilience contribute to the continuous growth of a positive mindset and strong virtues.
Dual-Class Teacher System
We implement a Dual-Class Teacher System so that all our students receive comprehensive care and support that benefit their all-around development. This is especially important for our Primary One (P.1) students as they experience the transition to primary schooling, which is why each P.1 class has a local class teacher and a foreign class teacher to guide our youngest students throughout the beginning of their primary school journeys.
A Whole-School Approach in Caring for Students’ Different Learning Needs
Each child is gifted with a unique personality and abilities. We both design and plan curriculums and materials in various teaching areas, as well as develop different teaching strategies in order to provide students with diverse learning experiences. We have top-down and bottom-up programmes to cater to the needs of students with different abilities.
The school implements a "whole-school" learning support approach. We have established a series of learning interventions that aim to provide our students with the specific support they need to achieve different learning milestones. These initiatives include Speech Therapy and Art Therapy sessions, as well as the Gross Motor and Learning Skills Group, the Reading and Writing Skills Enhancement Group and the Social Skills and Emotional Management Group. These initiatives are done with the support and guidance of The Education Bureau and various other education institutions so as to ensure their effective implementation.
Life Planning Education
The Life Planning Education efforts of our school aim to benefit the whole-person growth of our students. We provide initiatives that build up their communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills. Our activities lead our students to reflect on the different educational and career goals they wish to pursue in the future. These also aim to discover their own potential and understand their own interests. These efforts all come together in empowering our students to embrace a growth mindset and to approach the future with strength and optimism.
