Multicultural Education
At the Wun Tsuen School, we promote the principles of Multicultural Education to lead our students to gain new cultural perspectives, engage in self-reflection and translate the insights and values they develop into actions that strengthen their communities. In order to raise our students’ worldview and provide them new and exciting perspectives.
STEAM and Innovation Education
The school promotes STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) Education, Coding Education and experiential learning to provide students with modern learning opportunities to share their curiosity and innovation. Through promoting a hands-on exploration approach (i.e. learning through "doing" and "playing"), our students enhance their interest and enthusiasm in science and technology, share their creativity, cultivate their logical thinking and problem-solving skills, and enhance their familiarity in using different technology-related tools and resources.
School-based Chinese Curriculum
Our students possess diverse cultural and multi-linguistic backgrounds. Therefore in order to cater to their learning diversity in terms of Chinese language learning, our school has been cooperating with well-known Professor Tse Shek Kam's Team at the University of Hong Kong to develop our school-based Chinese curriculum.
Life-wide Learning Activities
Teachers design interdisciplinary learning activities and participate in off-campus activities or competitions to extend the learning space from the classroom to other environments, allowing students to integrate the knowledge of different subjects and apply the generic skills, broaden their horizons from experiential learning.
Reading
Our school emphasizes on reading. Apart from the rich collections of books in the library, school hall and classroom, students can also enjoy reading at anytime and anywhere through pop-up books, AR books and online reading platforms. The Reading Promotion Team promotes reading through various activities such as Reading Award Scheme, World Book Day, Shared- reading activity, authors’ talk etc. In addition, subject teachers choose appropriate books to meet the needs of the curriculum and teach reading strategies to enhance students’ reading effectiveness.
Aesthetic Education
Aesthetic Education enhances students' experiences as they explore different forms of art through hands-on inquiry, reflection, appreciation and art-making. This process helps raise their awareness of how different forms of art contribute to a society’s culture and identity, and empowers them to share their artistry to inspire the people around them. It also leads to greater awareness and appreciation for the different art forms that bring us joy.
