With the rapid development of science and technology, the relationship between science and artistic creation is closely related. Today's artistic creation appears in cross-media and cross-art forms. The combination of ever-changing technology and tools has strengthened the power in aesthetic creation . Hence, our school's art curriculum is also constantly updated. The new added topics not only provide an opportunity for students to learn the knowledge and skills in traditional art, but also to explore in various art media, and actively cultivate students' creativity and imagination. As 80% of our school's students have multicultural backgrounds, art can inspire their potential through diversified art activities. Our school provides different asthenic learning experiences to achieve the goal of communion through art appreciation and creation .
Our Visual Arts Department compenetrates STEAM education concepts to the art curriculum and courses, which combining science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the learning and exploration in Art. . In order to empower our students with art knowledge and creative skills, our school hopes to guide students to explore the possibility of creation, and even to carry out artistic experiment with various art medias to broaden their artistic boundaries and spice up their creations. We expect students to:
- Be able to make use of the characteristics in different creative materials and information technology for art creation;
- Cultivate the spirit of exploration in art creation, seek the possibility of creation, and cultivate problem-solving ability;
- Be able to experience and participate in different forms of artistic creation and performance;
- Create art through cooperation with peers to cultivate communication and collaboration skills;
- Be able to evaluate and display works in multiple forms, improve students' sensory stimulation, and increase students’ opportunities in showcasing their artworks.
